Martial arts have always been a part of my life. I started with Shotokan karate as a kid and later transitioned to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) during the pandemic. Training under Gracie Barra in Arizona, I found a new passion and a healthy outlet. BJJ has taught me invaluable lessons about perseverance, discipline, and continuous learning. It's a journey that has enriched my life profoundly.


I recall my early days in martial arts, watching the original "Karate Kid" and being inspired by the discipline and dedication it portrayed. When I discovered BJJ, it felt like a natural progression. Training has become a significant part of my life, providing a sense of community and a continuous challenge to improve myself physically and mentally.

After my time in the Marine Corps, I ventured into the telecommunications industry, excelling at AT&T Mobility and later at MCI WorldCom. However, my real break came when I entered the world of multi-level marketing (MLM) and digital marketing. They let marketers keep doing the same things while blaming external forces. The truth is more uncomfortable. Marketing broke because human decision-making evolved faster than marketing tactics did. The Real Collapse Was Psychological, Not Technical The modern consumer is not distracted, lazy, or cheap. They are pattern-aware. They have seen: the funnel the free offer the urgency the testimonials the countdown timer the “last chance” messaging And once the brain recognizes a pattern, persuasion loses its power. This isn’t a theory. It’s behavioral psychology. When the mind anticipates the move, it no longer reacts emotionally. It evaluates. And evaluation kills impulse-driven marketing. That’s what collapsed. The Truth: You’re Not in the Martial Arts Business Anymore You’re in the attention business. And attention goes to the loudest, most consistent, most relatable brand in the room.
